The Amazing 2024 US Open Experience — Honey Deuce and All!
Over the weekend, I made the trip up I-95 to the state of New York to take in the US Open!
The unofficial end to the summer is upon us, but if you are a huge sports fan like I am, then this is still a very fun portion of the calendar.
First off, football is back!
College football had its opening weekend during the holiday weekend, and the NFL kicks off this Thursday — but we all know it really doesn’t start until the Philadelphia Eagles kickoff on Friday!
Oh, and the biggest tennis tournament in our country, and one of the majors in the sport, is currently taking place.
The US Open Experience…
We made the trip up to Flushing Meadows in Queens, New York, over the extended weekend to watch Novak Djokovic and Alexei Popyrin face off in the US Open.
If you’re tapped into the tennis world in any capacity then you know Djokovic is considered to be one of, if not the single greatest tennis players of all time.
So to see him in action at the US Open was awesome!
It was a third-round, prime-time match at the main court in Arthur Ashe Stadium at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The US Open does a wonderful job of honoring the nation’s best tennis players in its history.
The match was awesome, but you know that was only part of the adventure.
You know we had to take in all of the food and drink at the US Open as well!
The main thing they are known for is their signature drink called the Honey Deuce.
It’s a 16-ounce drink that comes with a very cool collectors cup, and is a mix of Grey Goose vodka, lemonade, a drizzle of Chambord, and is finished with a garnish of three honeydew melon balls — all for the price of $23 bucks!
It was just a little bit too sweet for us, but it was refreshing nonetheless.
Funnily enough, our friends Mike Jerrick and Alex Holley from Good Day Philadelphia on Fox 29 chatted about the drink yesterday and even shouted us out!
Overall, it was a very successful trip to the US Open!
I totally recommend you make the trip if you ever get the chance!
