50th Anniversary Zeppelin Book Announced For 2018
Just a couple of days after Jimmy Page hinted at some special plans for Led Zeppelin‘s 50th anniversary next year, the first official project has been announced.
The group is teaming with Reel Art Press for “the official illustrated book celebrating 50 years since the formation of the group.” No other details have been announced other than a “Coming in 2018” message, with updates promised on ReelArtPress.com.
Page set the Zep 50th celebration afloat earlier this week with a video for the Academy of Achievement in which he promised, “There’ll be Led Zeppelin product coming out, for sure, that people haven’t heard, because I’m working on that…There’s all manner of surprises coming out.”
Page spearheaded the deluxe reissue of Zep’s catalog during 2014/15, digging into the group’s vaults for bonus tracks. He told us then that there’s more where that came from, too:
“Well, all of it was really good to review. It took hundreds of hours of listening…[16.15ish] I did go ahead and listen to hundreds of hours of tapes…I know there’s gonna be lots of really interesting material that people are gonna hear.”
