Scared Dad Locks Son Out Of House Over Coronavirus Fears
Peter Levine is doing everything possible to protect himself from coronavirus – even if it means his son can’t come home. The New Yorker tells the New York Post that he has banned his son and his friends from entering their home during the coronavirus pandemic after they spent their spring break partying in South Padre Island, Texas.
Levine, 52, explains, “I spoke with him every day and told him that maybe they should come home. I was aggravated. The news here was getting worse and worse. Matt sent me pictures of him and his friends congregating outdoors and listening to live music. It’s the scene you would not want to be in.” He adds, “His grandparents live here, and there is no need to expose them to god knows what he had been exposed to!”
Peter also explains that when his son Matt and his friends arrived back to the house after their trip, he stopped them at the door. “I had filled the trunk of Matt’s car with groceries and left him an envelope containing $300 in cash. I love my son, but they were not sleeping here.” He lastly adds, “I said, ‘If any of you have to pee, we have some bushes.’ Two of them took me up on it.”
Since Matt’s school is closed due to coronavirus, he is now staying with roommates in their off-campus house until everything blows over. “It’s too risky,” says Peter.
