Joe Elliott Warns of Scam Trying to Dupe Def Leppard Fans
Joe Elliott has taken to social media to address and warn Def Leppard fans about an ongoing scam that is duping folks out of money.
The frontman addressed the situation in the video below, which is captioned, “Important message from Joe: Neither Joe Elliott, Def Leppard or anyone in or related to the band will ever message you asking for money. Please do not engage with these profiles. We do everything we can to block these things, but scammers are now successfully stealing money from fans. It is not Joe. Please do not fall for it. All communication from Joe and the band will be through officially-verified profiles.”
Elliott says, in part, in the three-minute video about this money scam, “It’s been going on for a while. We do everything we can to block these things, but this is really starting to piss me off now because they’re actually getting money out of folk.”
He added, “I don’t need your money, okay? I would never, ever ask you for money because my wife’s divorcing me or my leg fell off or I need a glass eye. It’s complete and utter horses–t. Anyone who sends you an email claiming that they’re me or they’re going to take you on a date or … I don’t know, my house fell over, it’s not true!”
Def Leppard and Their Upcoming Stadium Tour with Journey
Def Leppard has a busy summer ahead of them beginning in July when they hit the road with Journey for a stadium tour.
The tour kicks off on July 6 in St. Louis and wraps on Aug. 8 in Denver. Along the way, the tour will make stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, and multiple stops in Texas and California.
During the tour, special guests will be rotating on select dates. Those guests are Steve Miller Band, Cheap Trick and Heart. A full list of dates is below, with details on which guests will be on specific dates.

Elliott is a father of three now, but he and his second wife, Kristine, didn’t have their first child, son Finlay, until 2009 when the Def Leppard frontman was 50. Since then, the couple welcomed two more children: Lyla, 7, and Harper, 3.
Elliott told Classic Rock about fatherhood, “It changes everything – and it comes at you like a f*cking express train! It’s not about me anymore. I was fifty when I had my first kid. While everybody else was having kids, I was having a jolly old time.”
