Allman Brothers leader Duane Allman was killed on October 29, 1971 when he lost control of his motorcycle and drove into the side of a flatbed truck in Macon, Georgia. He was only 24 years old. This morning author and musicologist Chris Epting explained the accident, where exactly it happened, the impact it had on the band and even dispelled myths surrounding the tragedy.
