MGK Brew Blast 2023 took place on the deck of the Battleship New Jersey on Saturday, September 9.
Listeners and staff enjoyed some cold beers and the sound of MGK house band Incognito during their live performance.
MGK Brew Blast
Guests enjoyed a tour of the historic battleship, formerly the USS New Jersey while it was still in commission, before making their way over to the main tent when the festivities started.
Incognito rocked some covers of the best classic rock hits, including “I Shot the Sheriff” by Eric Clapton, “Breakdown” by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, “Psycho Killer” by the Talking Heads, and “Do It Again” by Steely Dan. MGK jocks Tony Harris, Andre Gardner, and Steve Vassalotti introduced the band for their sets.
The beer tent quickly filled up with the opportunity to try some of the 50+ beers and other beverages available for sampling. The MGK listeners could enjoy a Yuengling Oktoberfest before their way over to the Montauk stand for the lighter taste of the “Surf” option.
They could move on from the tremendous variety at the Mud Hen stand for a nice IPA from local brewery like Evil Genius or Victory.
A sunny day on Camden waterfront (at least early in the day) provided the perfect atmosphere. The view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the Philadelphia skyline from just across the river set the scene beautifully for a memorable afternoon to celebrate the station.
Rest up and recover from MGK Brew Blast for another great day at the Camden Waterfront with 102.9 MGK. ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform at MGK Big Gig 2023 at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Sunday, September 17.
The entire MGK family thanks all guests for coming out to spend time with our on-air personalities, our staff, and the other listeners in attendance.
