Last night, Mike Jerrick, the host of Good Day Philadelphia on Fox 29 got to do something that had been evading him for quite some time, and I had front-row seats for the whole thing!

Mike finally got to ring the ceremonial pregame bell at the Philadelphia 76ers game before the team took on the Cleveland Cavaliers last night.

Not only was Mike there, but the stars were definitely in attendance at the Wells Fargo Center last night.

The question is, were they there for Mike, or were they there for the 76ers?

    The world will never know!

And a familiar face was back in the building last night as former Sixers sideline reporter Serena Winters was back doing her duties with her new team, the Cavaliers.

Everyone there was actually fortunate enough to witness history!

  • Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid became the fastest player in Sixers’ history to record 10,000 career points, which took him only 373 games!

He broke the record previously held by Hall of Famer, Allen Iverson!

    What an accomplishment.

At the next timeout, it was an honor to say, “With that basket, Joel Embiid took 373 games to score 10,000 points. The fastest in 76ers history surpassing A.I. who did it in 378 games.”

It was one of those moments when you realize how cool of a job doing the public address announcing for the team truly is.

The building then erupted in MVP chants!

  • Congrats!

The Sixers also took home the win, which is always a good thing.

So congrats to Mike and Joel, and go Sixers!
