This morning I was back in a familiar place with some friends once again.
It almost feels as if I never left from when I was there a little over a month ago talking about the night I rang the ceremonial first bell at the 76ers.
Yes, that’s right.
I was back as a guest on Good Day Philadelphia on Fox 29 with my buddies Mike Jerrick and Alex Holley.
This time it was the negative edition as Mike put it on the show.
I was there to break down Saturday night’s brutal loss by the 76ers against the Boston Celtics.
More specifically, I analyzed the last-second 70-plus foot shot by Sixers’ star center, Joel Embiid, which was nearly an all-time moment in Philadelphia sports history and would have tied the game and forced overtime.
Unfortunately, it came a millisecond too late and did not count in heartbreaking fashion.
The shot came right after Jayson Tatum of the Celtics hit a three-point shot with under ten seconds left to give Boston a three-point lead.
The Sixers did not have a timeout, so, at that point, they needed a miracle to send the game to overtime.
And it nearly happened.
Philadelphia fans’ prayers were nearly answered.
Embiid’s heave went in and the crowd at the Wells Fargo Center went wild, as I’m sure fans watching on TV did the same.
But under further review, it was just too late.
It is almost a metaphor for Philly sports as a whole this last year.
Getting so close to winning it all and then having it ripped away.
I guess that’s the life of a Philly sports fan!
Nothing is worse than losing to Boston, though!
So I definitely needed a pick-me-up and having the chance to make an appearance on Good Day Philadelphia again definitely helped!
It was awesome to help explain what happened to them and all their viewers on their number-one-rated morning news show!

Hopefully, celebrating a Sixers NBA Finals championship in the future!
