Guitarist Extraordinaire Eric Johnson with Cyndy Drue
Guitarist extraordinaire Eric Johnson is best known for his song Cliffs of Dover off his Ah Via Musicom album. It won the Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1992.
Since then, Eric’s been busy with recording more albums, touring, and he did a stint with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. In fact, this is the 25th anniversary of that G3 tour. To celebrate, Eric appeared on the cover of the June 2022 issue of Guitar Player magazine alongside his band mates.
Now Eric is back with two new albums released on July 29, 2022. The Book of Making (and) Yesterday Meets Today. The albums are available anywhere CDs are sold and can be purchased digitally as well. Also at the Blue Elan Records site.
In this interview, you’ll see how modest and humble Eric Johnson is about his remarkable talent. How he spent his time during the pandemic, and his upcoming tour in 2023. That will include a stop at the Keswick Theater on September 16, 2023.
