The Hooters Have Announced A New Album And Tour
The Hooters have announced a new album, and they’re going on tour. They’re one of our favorite Philly bands, and they’re SO BACK.
Rocking & Swing is their first new studio album since 2010. The new album will be released on May 12th on all major streaming services.
It’s a throwback to The Hooters’ roots. Back in the days when they were fresh out of Philly. It features their unique blend of ska, reggae, and rock. 8 new tracks and a bonus live track recorded at The Keswick Theatre in November 2022 will be all yours.
The first single, “Why Won’t You Call Me Back,” can be streamed here.
Some of the new album’s tracks were transferred from 4-track PortaStudio cassette demos from the 80s into ProTools. These vintage elements help the new record have an air of the past. The band is also re-releasing a remastered version of their 1981 debut 45 single, “Fightin’ On The Same Side” and “Wireless.” It will be available with the original artwork sleeve and newly remastered for a limited special edition on yellow vinyl.
The Hooters are also going on their first US tour since the 90s. The band will be joining Rick Springfield’s “I Want My 80s” US tour, from August 4th to Sept. 17th. See the tour dates here.
