As you know, the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys during "Sunday Night Football" (Dec. 10). It was a lop-sided performance, with the Cowboys taking it 33-13. What's more, the Eagles fell to the San Francisco 49ers the week prior, 42-19, which was also not a close game. So, should Eagles fans be worried? After all, these losses were pretty extreme. But, Philadelphia Eagles fans, this should give you hope. I'm here to bring you some good news. Dry those tears.
First of all, you have Jalen Hurts. This guy isn't just physically strong; he's mentally strong. That counts for a lot. After the loss against the Cowboys, Hurts talked about adversity, which he often does. He said, "This is something we're going through. Not necessarily stuck in, and that's something I believe in. We have to be able to learn from it, and we will. There's an eagerness to just continue to press on. I think it's a lesson. I think they're all lessons. We learn more about ourselves. We learn more about what we need to improve on, and we just need to capitalize on this moment, because it is an opportunity for us. You know, we play some really good football teams all year, and we've been challenged and stretched out in a ton of different ways, and so we just have to continue to grow."
Secondly, let's be real. The Eagles' remaining schedule is easy-peasy. Not that there's ever an easy game in the NFL. But, coming up, the Eagles play the Giants twice. They also play the Cardinals and, on this upcoming "Monday Night Football," the Seattle Seahawks. Now, I do see the Seahawks giving the Eagles a run for their money. But, I don't see the Giants and Cardinals games being very competitive.
Finally, if the Eagles can work on penalties, that will help them a lot in upcoming games. The Eagles had 10 penalties for 95 lost yards, while Dallas had seven penalties for 65 lost yards. It makes a difference. This is something the team should be able to work on and clean up.
So, Eagles fans and friends, don't lose hope. Tomorrow is a new day. With a long week, the Eagles should be back on "Monday Night Football" refreshed and ready to fly. Reach out to me with your thoughts here.
