Gather Food Hall and Bar to Open in Philly’s Bulletin Building
Gather Food Hall and Bar will open in the fall of 2025 on the ground floor of the Bulletin Building. The building, located across from 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, is the former home of the Philadelphia Bulletin newspaper. It is also part of Brandywine Realty Trust’s $3.5 billion Schuylkill Yards development project, including luxury residences, retail spaces, labs, and office space, according to a news release.
When searching for a food services provider for Schuylkill Yards, Brandywine Realty wanted experience and someone with a Philadelphia connection. The team behind the food hall includes Jeff Benjamin, a managing partner at Food and Beverage Advisory. Benjamin also serves as the CEO of Federal Donuts & Chicken and is the founder of the Italian restaurant Vetri Cucina in Center City.
Gather is collaborating with a New York consulting firm that will manage the food hall’s vendors. These vendors will include various artisan concepts curated by New York chef and restaurateur Akhtar Nawab’s Hospitality HHQ.
Gather’s design is being led by the woman-owned firm Bell Butler Design & Architecture. The decor will incorporate the building’s decades of history when it was used to house a newspaper printing press and its recent iteration as a first-class gene therapy research facility. Guests at Gather will find newspaper-inspired decor, lighting fixtures, vintage graphics, and accents that acknowledge history and future innovation.
Philadelphia-based JEME Agency will serve as the creative lead for the food hall. The food hall is expected to target Amtrak and SEPTA commuters entering and exiting the 30th Street Station. In addition to Gather Food Hall and Bar, Schuylkill Yards is planning to add 33,000 square feet of retail space in 2025, including a Fine Wine & Good Spirits shop and a Starbucks at 3151 Market St.
