A Listener Didn’t Like My Jab at Massachusetts
I like to take a few jabs at Massachusetts from time to time. I’ve called it the worst state in the union. It’s mainly because of Boston and their insufferable sports fans. The photo of the kid at a parade with the sign that said something like, I’m 9 and I’ve seen 11 championships. Ugh, shut up kid. Well a listener named Boston Scot sent me an email, which I will share below. Scot probably needs Boston Accent class.
Here is Scot’s email to me, which should be read with that ridiculous accent:
Hi Steve,
I was surprised by how jealous you are of Massachusetts. Is it because it is the true birthplace of our nation? Let’s be honest, we are the ones that served King George with the divorce papers. Maybe it’s that Massachusetts is home to the greatest sports teams in the country. What other city can match the success, across the board, of our four major franchises? Is it that we’re number one for education and health? Yes sir, top ranked in both categories. Let’s be honest, Steve…a couple of drunk guys got in a fight. Hold the press! Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t they have to install holding cells at the Linc? And Boston doesn’t have a street famous for the drugged out zombies. Cheer up…you are certainly welcome to visit us anytime you want to expand your horizons.Scot
All in good fun from Scot. As is my response.
Hahaha thanks for the email Scot. Glad you were listening to hear the jab at Massachusetts. It was more for my sister-in-law (who I enjoy) because she is from there. I will continue to take those jabs, but now I’ll have both her and you in mind! She is also an insufferable Boston sports fan.Mass is 2nd in health! The holding cell was at the Veterans Stadium which has been gone since 2004 so as Mike Gundy would say… “Get your facts straight.“
I’ve been to Massachusetts. I love history and know the state’s roll in America’s beginnings.Great stuff!Take care and hope you’re always around MGK to hear the next Massachusetts (really just Boston) shot.Oh! Almost forgot. Fenway Park, incredible history. It’s still a dump!
I look forward to more emails from my new pen pal from Massachusetts and likely an insufferable Boston sports fan, Boston Scot.
