The 2023-24 season has arrived for the Philadelphia 76ers. Thousands of fans will head to the Wells Fargo Center this season, but there are things to know before attending a game.

Last season didn’t end the way Sixers fans wanted it to, but they still have a chance to build on the franchise’s proud tradition. Watch Joel Embiid and company looking to get over the hump to the NBA Finals.

The reigning NBA MVP provides a luxury that most franchises don’t have. The Sixers still must prove they have enough good players around Embiid, but they have their centerpiece in place.

Tyrese Maxey is also looking to take another step toward NBA stardom under first-year head coach Nick Nurse.

Kate Scott joined The John Kincade Show to talk about Nurse’s first season in Philadelphia.

“Don’t question the fact that he had lots of offers this offseason. He chose to come here because he’s intrigued by the pieces and the passion of this sports city.” -Kate Scott

Despite the negativity of six consecutive years of heartbreaking playoff exits, the Sixers hired a qualified head coach who has the motivation to lead them over the hump into the Eastern Conference Finals and to the ultimate goal of winning their first championship since 1983.

If you’re a rookie NBA fan, gear up for memories of exhilarating live action that can drive a crowd wild.

Here are 9 things you need to know before going to a Philadelphia 76ers game.

  • Who Will They Be Playing?

It’s not always a no-brainer. You’ll have your Sixers gear on, but make sure a jacket, a hat, or any other clothes you wear don’t rep the visiting colors. Don’t risk getting stuck wearing green if it’s a matchup against the Boston Celtics.

  • Where Is A Good Place To Park?

Eight parking lots surround the Wells Fargo Center. Availability changes depending on your arrival time, but the F, E, and D lots between Xfinity Live and the Wells Fargo Center are typically the easiest to access. The arena lots no longer accept cash.

If you’d rather take public transportation to the game, NRG Station is the terminal stop on the Broad Street Line (Orange Line). It lets riders out at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, just a quick walk from the Wells Fargo Center.

  • What Time Can You Get In?

The entrances typically open 1.5 hours before most home games. Concession stands and merchandise locations around the main concourse typically open at the same time. The Sixers don’t allow reentry.

  • How Will The Fan Screening Process Work?

Limit what you bring into the stadium to make the screening process simpler. Fans cannot bring any outside food and beverage items inside. The Sixers have made improvements to keep lines at the stadium entrance moving quickly.

There are plenty of options at a 76ers game. Many fans will be interested in a cold drink too. Just make sure to avoid cash payments at concession stands also.
