Access To Rock

MGK's Big Gig / Freedom Mortgage Pavilion / Camden, NJ / August 13th, 2022

MGK Big Gig 2023 will take place at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on the Camden Waterfront on Sunday, September 17. Purchase your tickets to see ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd rock the stage for the annual celebration of Philly’s best classic rock station.

The “Sharp Dressed, Simple Man Tour” will stop in 22 cities. Big Gig is the only stop in the Philadelphia area. The name is a clever homage to one hit single from each of the two bands. Uncle Kracker will open before the two Rock & Roll giants hit the stage.

Feel the excitement as we approach the big day, and read up on everything you need to know before you head to the venue.

ZZ Top

“That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” exploded in 1973. Their breakout album Tres Hombres featured hits like “La Grange” and “Waitin’ For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago.”

Eliminator in 1983 featured some of their most recognizable hits like “Gimme All Your Lovin’” and “Sharp Dressed Man.”

Their fame grew because of some impressively groomed beards and fine-tuned automobiles that landed with their fans in the golden era of Rock & Roll. The associations with the band have continued into modern times.

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd originally formed in 1973, and they earned a reputation as one of the quintessential Southern rock bands.

A tragic plane crash killed three band members and six people total in 1977. However, Lynyrd Skynyrd has shown resilience in the decades following the tragedy, even earning a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2006.

Major hits like “Free Bird” and “Sweet Home Alabama” put Lynyrd Skynyrd on the map. These iconic songs have helped preserve Lynyrd Skynyrd’s iconic image as a timeless band and a key part of Southern culture.

Get ready to see both bands at MGK Big Gig 2023!
