You Gotta See This

President Joe Biden announced today (March 2) there will be enough COVID-19 vaccine doses for every adult by the end of May. He had originally projected there would be enough vaccine supply for every adult by the end of July.

Per The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, President Biden made this announcement at the White House following a call “…into the weekly private Senate Democratic lunch on Capitol Hill.”

The Washington Post quoted President Biden as saying, “This country will have enough vaccine supply for every adult in America by the end of May. … That’s progress.”

This vaccine supply update comes after the Biden administration was able to facilitate an agreement between Merck and Johnson & Johnson to enable the rival companies to work together to produce more doses of the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine was approved for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration this past weekend.

As of the time of publishing, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently report that 10.2 percent of the U.S. population over 18 years of age is fully vaccinated.
