The Philadelphia Eagles have proposed an NFL rule change, and it's a big one.
On Monday (March 13), the NFL released all the proposed rule changes submitted by the teams. The ideas run the gamut, but for the Eagles, they're asking for an XFL-style change for the onside kick.
The Eagles submitted a rule to alter an onside kick attempt after a touchdown to a 4th-and-20 play. The Eagles want the NFL to allow teams to keep possession after a score by completing a fourth-and-20 offensive play from their 20-yard line. This would be instead of the onside kick, where the team that just scored gets to still have possession if it kicks the ball 10 yards and recovers the ball.
