Pigskin Picks NFL Super Bowl 58

What were the Eagles doing last week? What was I doing last week. NFC East Divisional matchups are always tighter than they should be. That includes a meh Washington team. Meh because they just got trounced by the even worse Chicago Bears, by 20 points! The other loss, well the Bengals have some real problems. Enough excuses, and talk of losses. As always Pigskin Picks is brought to you by Parx Casino and Sportsbook – this is how you win – must be 21 – gambling problem call 1-800-gambler.

Last Week Record: 1-2. Overall Record: 5-7

Week 5

Houston Texans @ Atlanta Falcons. ATL -1.5

Simple. Give me CJ Stroud, Nico Collins, Tank Dell and the Demeco Ryans defense all day against Desmond Ridder. The Falcons have some really good young offensive talent in Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts, but nobody to get them the ball except a handoff. Stroud looks like the real deal. Even with an injured offensive line and a running back in Dameon Pierce who hasn't gotten going yet.Houston goes to Atlanta and wins outright.

Pick: Texans

New York Giants @ Miami Dolphins MIA -12

The Giants blow. They now have to go into Miami, who are coming off the first loss of the season. Expect them to get their doors blow off and blown off fast. Dolphins might win by 20.

Pick: Dolphins

Eagles @ Los Angeles Rams PHI -4

The Eagles make their first trip to SOFI Stadium in LA, but just like most LA trips there is going to be a sea of midnight and kelly green in the stadium. A couple things that could worry me about this game, Rams WR Cooper Kupp could be returning this Sunday. Kupp's addition and the great play so far by Puca Nacua (to quote fantasy football god Matthew Berry, means no worries) could make it a tough day for the Eagles secondary. Matthew Stafford still has gas left in the tank and will make plays if given the chance. Also don't sleep on rookie running back Kyren Williams, but I think the Eagles run D keeps him in check. As far as the Eagles go, Jalen had his best game of the season last week against a tough divisional defense. I think this one is tight through most of the game, but the birds do cover the 4.

Pick: Eagles

Phillies Advance To NLDS, 15 Hype Photos From Their Clinching Game

The Phillies advance to the NLDS and will face the Atlanta Braves. The National League Division Series features the arguably, best team in baseball which also happens to be a division rival with our Phillies.

The Braves finished the season with a 104-58 record and the Phillies finished with a 90-72 win.

Phillies Advance To NLDS

Here are some highlights from game two. Now remember, since this is the Wild Card round, this was a best-of-three series, the first to win two games. The Phillies swept the Marlins in two no-doubt kinds of games, wouldn't you agree?

Phillies 2022 Postseason

As we know, the Phillies came very close to winning it all last year. After barely squeaking by to make it into the postseason, occupying the sixth seed in the National League, they were able to defy all odds and make it all the way to the World Series.

They faced the Houston Astros who proved to be much too much to handle. They lost in six games.

2023 MLB Playoffs

In the first round, the Wild Card round, actually all four series were sweeps. The Phillies took down the Marlins at home. The Texas Rangers went to Tampa Bay and took the Rays down in a sweep. The Minnesota Twins swept the Toronto Blue Jays in two quick games. Also, the Arizona Diamondbacks, who were a Wild Card team, beat the division-winning Milwaukee Brewers.

Phillies Win Wild Card Round

Let's take a look at some of the best moments from Game Two. Some highlights include a solo blast from J.T. Realmuto, and a couple of RBIs from Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber. But the biggest moment was Bryson Stott's grand slam! INSANE!
