I Saw the Start of a Fugitive Arrest Raid
I saw the start of a fugitive arrest raid this morning. When we drive into work for a morning show there is not usually many cars on the road. It’s a very sleepy time and I probably drive past 15 cars total on my way in. This morning was definitely a different experience.
Taking my normal route into work I noticed something out of the ordinary, 3 police Explorers. 2 unmarked and 1 PA state trooper all parked on the side of the road. Different. As I continue up the road I reach a point where a residential street meets with the main road. Coming off the residential street were two white transport vans, but the sliding door was open as were the back doors. These were running completely dark too, no headlights. Another unmarked Explorer stopped at the intersection and allowed me to pass (still behind these transport vans.) I had to do a double take because now I can see that there are people in those vans in tactical uniforms.
The transport vans pull onto the side of the road near a funeral home and some apartments. The funeral home just had work done out front and is lit up like the moon, so I could now clearly see the tactical uniforms and weapons. A wild sight on a usually quiet ride into work. After I passed it I was sitting at the next light and could still see the cars. Then the police cars that were part of the raid all hit their lights and I could hear something. I rolled down my window and could hear that the officers were using their loud speaker. All I could make out was “WARNING.”
I got to work and immediately started searching the news stations, their websites and twitter to see if anyone had anything about what i just saw. Nothing! How could that be in 2024. I had to ask on the air, “what did I witness?” before I got an answer from a caller who saw it happen before in his neighborhood.
Early morning fugitive arrest raid. Tactical uniforms, no lights until everyone is set, loud speaker to wake the whole neighborhood and alert them of what is happening? Wild, but cool scene on my way into work.
AC/DC: Top 25 Brian Johnson Songs
The AC/DC catalog can be split into two parts: The Bon Scott years and the Brian Johnson years. For the sake of our latest list, we’re going to focus on the Brian Johnson years.
Johnson was officially announced as the new singer for AC/DC on April 15, 1980. Back then, he faced the daunting challenge of following Scott, who had died suddenly in February 1980 just as AC/DC was enjoying international success from their latest album, Highway to Hell.
Not only did Johnson rise to the occasion, but he also helped lead AC/DC with the release of their monster hit Back In Black, which is one of the highest-selling albums of all time moving over 50 million copies worldwide and 25 million copies in the United States alone.
Over the course of the past four decades, Johnson has become one of rock’s most iconic and easily recognizable voices ever. His official return to AC/DC in 2020 after a nearly four-year absence due to hearing loss issues was one of the bright spots in an unprecedentedly dark year.
In his honor, here’s our ranking of the top 25 Brian Johnson AC/DC songs.
Latest on AC/DC
AC/DC announced in February their new European tour dates. This marks the first tour from the band since 2016.
The “Power Up” tour will kick off on May 17 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and will wrap on August 17 in Dublin. Currently, it’s unknown whether AC/DC will expand their tour to other continents, but stay tuned.
In a brief statement from the band, they confirmed the lineup for the tour. Brian Johnson will be on vocals and joined by Angus and Stevie Young on lead and rhythm guitar, respectively. Matt Laug, who played with the band at Power Trip in October 2023, will be on drums.
As for bass, AC/DC has recruited Chris Chaney “to carry the torch for Cliff [Williams].” Williams retired shortly after the 2016 tour, but he appeared on AC/DC’s 2020 album Power Up. Williams also performed at Power Trip with the band.
