As the Philadelphia Flyers head into Round One of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the hockey club is lighting the city orange in celebration of their first-ever summertime playoff run. Philadelphia will be “Flyer’d Up” at every turn with building lights, street signage and mural art decking out the city in the Flyers signature orange and black. City Lights
From August 11-13, building lights across Philadelphia will go orange in honor of the Flyers. Buildings participating in the celebration include Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, Citizen’s Bank Park, Liberty 1 & 2, FMC Tower, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Boat House Row and the Philadelphia International Airport.
City Signage
The hockey club hung several banners throughout the city to hype up fans as they walk the streets of Philadelphia. These banners can be found around Center City, including the lead up to City Hall, as well as along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The team also hung a giant Flyers flag outside of Humphry Flag Company in Old City and executed a visual takeover of the Broad Street subway stations and bus shelters.
Amberella Mural Art
The Flyers also teamed up with mixed-media and street artist, Amberella, to help cover the City of Philadelphia in her recognizable heart art. So far, more than 40 hearts have popped up on 27 walls throughout some of the most popular neighborhoods in the city including:
