For radio guys like me, who love the radio business with all my heart, the biggest honor we could possibly receive is the coveted Marconi Award, presented each year to radio stations and on air personalities, honoring "excellence and performance in radio" by the NAB (The National Association Of Broadcasters.)

I am thrilled beyond belief to announce that, for the second time, Classic Rock 102.9 MGK has won the Marconi Award for Classic Hits Station Of The Year in 2022!!! The NAB combines Classic Rock and Classic Hits Stations into one category, so we really have a lot of great competition each year! This award, the second Marconi for MGK, means so much to me and the MGK crew, and it couldn't happen if it were not for the work of my incredibly talented colleagues who I have the pleasure of seeing (mostly) every day: Program Director Bill Weston, John DeBella, Steve Vassalotti, Matt Cord, Tony Harris, our weekend air force: Cyndy Drue, Paul Kelly, Leigh Richards, Danny Ocean, Sean Burke, T. Morgan and Little Steven, the best weekend team in the biz. Many thanks as well to Zack Morse, our insanely creative imaging guy, not to mention Sara, Robin and the rest of our digital crew.

MGK 2022 Marconi Award

It truly is a team effort to bring you Classic Rock music, charity events, appearances and contests every single day, and we are so honored to receive this prestigious award from the NAB!

Andre is living the dream, rocking your afternoons with amazing Classic Rock on 102.9 MGK! He has been a music lover since age 3 when his brother Alan turned him onto The Beatles. For MGK, Andre writes about his love of music, including production, charts, and of course, the Beatles!
