Taconelli’s Pizza In Philadelphia Is Phenomenal
Is there anything that is as universally loved in the world as pizza? I think it would be hard to find another kind of food that everyone seems to love as much as pizza. Come to think of it, I don’t know if any singular thing in the whole universe is as loved as pizza. Luckily for us in Philly, we have a ton of great spots in this city — especially Taconelli’s Pizza.
The other night I went out with Pattyann and friends to Taconelli’s Pizza, and if you’ve never been, you definitely have to make it a priority to check it out!
I love everything about this place. The food quality is excellent, the servers are quick and friendly, and the place is clean and cozy. Plus, it is BYOB… Hello! What more could you ask for in a pizza place?
As a group, we brought our share of beer and wine for the night, and usually, that’s all you need for a good time! But when you go to Taconelli’s Pizza, the pizza is always the star of the night!
It is a thin-crust pie that is cooked in an old brick oven. Everyone has their preference for toppings, but my favorite is sausage.
By the way, we weren’t just there for a random get-together, we were actually celebrating a birthday!
I forgot to mention earlier, but on top of Taconelli’s Pizza being BYOB, it is also BYOD — bring your own dessert! So, of course, we had to bring a cake!
If you are interested in trying Taconelli’s Pizza, it is located at 2604 East Somerset Street in Philly.
It is actually one block away from Stock’s Bakery if you are familiar, which is located at 2614 East Lehigh Ave, and is a legendary Port Richmond bakery with the best pancakes… but that is a story for another day!
What are you waiting for? Go check out Taconelli’s Pizza. After all, it’s Friday!
Maybe I’ll grab some once I head out of the WMGK studios!

The Top 19 Moments of MGK Big Gig 2023
There are just four days left in the summer — at least officially according to the calendar that says the last day of the season is September 23rd. For some people, summer unofficially ends after Labor Day Weekend, but for me, my summer unofficially ended with a bang over the weekend at MGK Big Gig 2023!
On Sunday, we had yet another successful MGK Big Gig, and it might have been the best one yet! From the live broadcasts to hanging with fans, to the performances by the legendary musical guests, it was definitely a day to remember!
The live performances included Uncle Kracker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and ZZ-Top, and they were the perfect acts to have taken the stage on a Sunday in the late summer.
Tony Harris, Andre Gardner, and then Steve Vassalotti and I all broadcasted live throughout the day. Of course, I have to send a huge shout-out to all of you who stopped by our broadcast booth on the Walt Whitman side of the Freedom Mortgage Pavillion!
Then, Steve and I were lucky enough to get to go on stage in between Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ-Top, and it was a thrill to look out into the crowd and see so many loyal WMGK listeners in attendance! We even got to get on the microphone and say hello to the MGK Big Gig crowd!
Below I will share some of my favorite moments I captured throughout the day and post some pictures and videos for you all to relive the day if you were there, or see it from my perspective if you were unable to make it this year!
Somehow, each year the MGK Big Gig continues to get better and better, and I can’t wait to see what is in store for next year’s show. I know it will be amazing!
