Pennsylvania Has One of the Best (and Worst) Cities to Meet Singles
If you’re single and looking to mingle, then perhaps you’d like to find the perfect city to either have some unattached fun or meet that special someone. So, which cities are the best for singles in America? As it turns out, Pennsylvania has one of the best, and worst, cities to meet singles in the U.S.
The study comes from Zumper.com. In it, they explain, “From the bustling streets of Atlanta, Georgia, to the charming neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, these cities offer many opportunities for singles to connect and thrive. With affordable living options, vibrant entertainment scenes, and bustling dating environments, these cities are the perfect places to embark on your cuffing season journey, or to relish in the joys of singlehood.”
As for methodology, the crew at Zumber.com “evaluated around 100 top cities on median rent price, percentage of single population, cost of living, median income, unemployment rate, and access to dining and entertainment.” Then, they ranked the results. So, a lot of different factors went into these calculations. One key takeaway, which doesn’t have to do with our area, is that New Haven, Connecticut, has the highest population of singles at 61.49%, according to the study. So, if you’re purely looking for numbers, that’s a good spot for you.
Pennsylvania Has One of the Best (and Worst) Cities to Meet Singles
So, which Pennsylvania cities is one of the best to meet singles? There are actually a few on this list. The highest comes in at No. 10, and it’s Pittsburgh. “The city’s 59% single population makes it an excellent place for singles to connect,” the outlet states. “Pittsburgh also offers a moderate level of entertainment options and a well-rounded restaurant scene.” But, Philadelphia is on here, too. It comes it at No. 69. At least it’s on the list, but it has among the worst grading for “entertainment per capita” and “restaurants per capita” at a D. It also got a D in the cost of rent, cost of living and non-family median income. Ouch. Find the full study on the best cities for singles here.
