Pigskin Picks NFL Week 12 – Thanksgiving Games

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! A little different this week for Pigskin Picks NFL Week 12. I'm either going to super inflate my record or completely destroy it because we're going overboard this week. Today I'm posting the three Thanksgiving games. I'll post the Black Friday game on Friday along with the usual weekend picks. So Week 12 gets 7 picks in total. Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions DET -7.5

For the first time since 1962 the Detroit Lions are 8-2. For 3 quarters Jared Goff did everything he could to make sure that didn't happen. He looked like he was playing outside at Chicago in January instead of the friendly confines of Detroit's indoor Ford Field. In the 4th quarter he pulled it together. Now the traditional Lions Thanksgiving game is up and I expect a lot more out of Jared Goff. The Packers are struggling with Jordan Love at the helm and now they've lost Aaron Jones to a knee injury. Lions put on a good show for their fans, and handle the old kings of the NFC North without issue.

PICK - Detroit

Washington Commanders @ Dallas Cowboys DAL -11

Sam Howell likes to sling the football. Always dangerous when the Cowboys like to pick it off and take it to the house. NFC East game on short rest, and 11 is a big number. I've bet against the Commanders and a big # twice. I also find it disgusting to pick Dallas 2 weeks in a row. So I won't.

PICK - Washington

San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks SF -7

San Francisco has looked strong post-bye. The return of Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams has made the offense look like a good offense again. Geno Smith has come back down to earth since his surprising 2022 season. I'm not completely confident in this pick because the game is in Seattle and the 9ers have a massive game coming up the week after in Philadelphia for complete control of the NFC. They could be overlooking this Seattle team. Close my eyes and make the dart throw at San Francisco to cover the 7.
