Over 90 Philadelphia Spraygrounds Are Officially Open
Memorial Day Weekend came and went. The unofficial start to summer, but the weather has been summer-like for weeks now. Philadelphians are hot and that includes the littles too. While the neighborhood public pools aren’t open just yet, the Philadelphia spraygrounds are officially open!
If you’ve been to City Hall and Dilworth Park recently, you can’t miss the gorgeous roller skating rink set up there. The Rothman Orthopedics Roller Rink is open for outdoor roller skating at Dilworth Park now through June 30th.
It’s colorful and fun, and right next to it… is one of over 90 Philadelphia water-based play spaces, or spraygrounds. Some are simple sprinklers or misting spots, and others are full water playgrounds, i.e SPRAYgrounds.
The Philadelphia spraygrounds are free to use, and open to adults too, although usually it’s toddlers running about and cooling off through the water. Perfect for kids not yet able to swim, as a free, fun, active option for cooling down during the hottest days of summer:
Be sure to bring lots of sunscreen, clothes and shoes that can get wet. A change of clothes and a towel are a great idea too.
To start, the spraygrounds will be on each day from now through the beginning of July. Get your spray on every day of the week. The hours are below.
Philadelphia Spraygrounds Starting Hours:
Weekdays: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Weekends: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
After July Spray Hours Extend To:
