Study: No Dip In Productivity In 4 Day Work Week
This is why each month should have at least one 3 day weekend. A study was done in the UK over the course of 6 months to see how people’s productivity and morale if they were had a 4 day work week. Coming back to work after a 3 day weekend, knowing that you only have to make it through 4 days before you’re off for another extended period of time makes everything seem easier. That slog of Monday through Tuesday, just to get to midweek and try to trick your brain into thinking ok I can do this. just get through today. During a 4 day week there is no need for that, and the result of this study prove that everything is better when you have 3 days off. Workers morale was up, productivity had no dips, less ‘sick’ days taken. An important note about this 4 day work week trial is that the workers salaries were not decreased with one less work day. So, salaries stayed the same and they added a weekend day with no downside to productivity? I consider that a major success.
