Catching Up With Former Philadelphia Eagles’ GM, Jim Murray
Right now, the city of Philadelphia is blessed with great general managers for all of our professional sports franchises.
Howie Roseman, the GM for the Philadelphia Eagles, is fresh off of a season where he put together a team that made it to the Super Bowl and was awarded Executive of the Year.
Dave Dombrowski, the GM for the Philadelphia Phillies, has done nothing but attract superstars to our city and put together a World Series roster after a decade of failure.
Daryl Morey, the GM for the Sixers, continues to push the right buttons with trades and hires, including bringing in possibly the hottest head coach on the open market, Nick Nurse.
And I can’t forget Danny Briere, the newly hired GM for the Flyers, who fans are excited to see if he can turn around our once-great hockey team.
Those are just our current GMs in this city, I didn’t even mention any of the fantastic ones from the past, but over the weekend, I had the chance to visit with a former GM for the Eagles!
I was at my niece Maddie’s graduation party as she just graduated from Cardinal O’Hara in the class of 2023, so first and foremost, congrats to Maddie, but while celebrating her, I ran into the legendary Jim Murray!
He served as the Eagles’ GM from 1974-1982 and he was actually the guy that hired future Hall of Fame coach, Dick Vermeil.
Jim Murray was also front and center during the Birds’ run to the Super Bowl in 1980 where they fell just short to the Oakland Raiders in their first Super Bowl appearance.
Not only was he great at his job, but he was also a great person off the field being involved in so many charitable things, including Eagles Fly for Leukemia and co-founded the first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia.
It was great to catch up with him!
By the way, if you look closely at the picture of us, Jim Murray is still repping the Eagles with his Birds jacket!
How many days until training camp starts again?

My Bike Ride From South Philadelphia to the WMGK Studios
I love when the spring finally hits and the weather starts to warm up!
Of course, it means summer is getting closer and closer.
The Phillies season has just started.
And the NBA Playoffs are underway, with hopefully a deep run in store for the Philadelphia 76ers!
But one of the main reasons I love this time of year is because I can finally ride my bike to and from work again a few times a week!
I love riding my bike as much as I can to work at the WMGK studios at 1 Bala Plaza from my house all the way in South Philly.
It is honestly such a scenic route that I never get tired of riding through.
I pass through the gorgeous Kelly Drive, including the iconic Boathouse Row section of the city!
Also along my trip, I pass the Rocky statue, so whenever I get tired that gives me the extra motivation to last the extra rounds like our favorite fictional boxer would do!
I can’t forget Delancey Street, either!
The homes on that street are beautiful!
I also pass some great establishments in the city during my ride!
One of these is a restaurant called Rouge, which easily has some of the best burgers in the whole city!
Another place I pass is the Mitchell & Ness headquarters!
For all my sports lovers out there, you have to stop by one of their flagship stores because they have some of the best sports gear and memorabilia in the game!
My favorite part of the route is along the Schuylkill Trail!
Then, finally, the homestretch down legendary South Street.
Altogether, it is 10.8 miles total and I do it typically in just under an hour!
I know that information thanks to my Strava map!
I put some photos and videos together from my ride so you guys can see what I see and enjoy!
