Jason Kelce Once Sang The National Anthem At The Sixers Game
A true Philadelphia sports legend decided to hang it up yesterday, after one of the best careers we have seen in this city’s history — #62 Jason Kelce.
Jason Kelce is one of the most decorated players in Philadelphia Eagles history with a career that includes six first-team All-Pros, seven Pro Bowl appearances, the most consecutive games played in franchise history with 156, and, most importantly, a Super Bowl LII title.
Needless to say, any accolade you can think of, Jason Kelce probably has it.
Although one accolade he holds might come as a surprise to some of you!
Jason Kelce the Singer…
Jason Kelce holds the honor of being the first and only person to ring the bell and sing the National Anthem the same night at a Philadelphia 76ers game.
You are probably wondering why he was the one to sing because usually that is only reserved for the team’s Christmas album!
However, that night at the Sixers game he was actually helping out a former teammate of his, Connor Barwin.
Barwin’s charity was closing in on $100k raised and Jason Kelce brought awareness to it by signing the National Anthem.
Kelce did a great job!
I actually had the opportunity to talk to him before I introduced him to the crowd, which gave him a loud ovation, of course!
He actually told me he was more nervous to sing the National Anthem at the Sixers game than he was to play the Super Bowl!
The best part of the night was the fact that Jason Kelce was wearing The Dude’s sweater from the movie The Big Lebowski.
congratulations on a legendary career @JasonKelce! 💙❤️ pic.twitter.com/sZ4abQP9KD

Funnily enough, I actually got the same sweater from my wife for my birthday two years ago!
I love it so much and I actually get so many compliments about it from people when I wear it out!
Jason was no stranger to Sixers games, though. He was at one recently with his brother, Travis Kelce.

It’s Not Goodbye, It’s We’ll See You Later…
I’m going to miss watching Jason Kelce on the field, but I have a feeling we are going to still see him a bunch throughout the Delaware Valley so he’ll never be too far!
Heck, he lives in Delco and spends a lot of his summer in Sea Isle City!
Anyway, congrats on an amazing career, Kelce! And thanks for Super Bowl LII.
Go Birds!
