Save The Farm
To save our family farm from being developed we came up with an idea of a farm microbrewery. We approached our local township and asked for our farm to be zoned as agricultural farm microbrewery. It took a few years of zoning and regulations to be in place for us to move forward with this idea. As a result, Great Barn became first farm microbrewery in Bucks County, PA.
We converted a portion of goat dairy barn into a 7 barrel brew system, planted barley, found a local maltster, Double Eagle, and we built a taproom in New Hope, PA.
100% Authentic Pennsylvania Ales
We grow our own barley and make 100% authentic Pennsylvania Ales.
Great Barn preserves wild habitat and farmland and promotes the bond between nature, farming, and brewing by creating distinctive beer that is truly a product of Pennsylvania soil. Great Barn Brewery is a proud member of PA Preferred Brews program. This means our products grow and thrive in PA soil and weather conditions.
Pints With PA Pride
All of Great Barn’s products offer a pint paired with the message that we brew farm-to-glass beer right here in Bucks County and we do it in an ecologically responsible way.
Making Sustainability & Ecological Responsibility A Priority
Sustainability and ecological responsibility has always been a priority for us, so we partnered up with HELLO INSPIRE a provider of clean wind power. Both the farm and taproom in New Hope run on clean energy. Their Bucks County focused approach extends to a dedication to revitalize the agricultural community, support local hop, honey and produce growers by using local ingredients in our ales.
Great Barn only uses American made kegs from a local company in Pottstown.
