DeSean Jackson Has The Wrong Eagle On His Wide Receiver Mt. Rushmore
DeSean Jackson was a really good wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. An unbelievably exciting football player when he donned the midnight green. Every game he played in from 2009-2013 you knew there was a chance to see him running past or away from defenders. He was one of the best deep ball trackers in the NFL. His ability to find the right path of a usually not-on-the-money throw was pretty incredible. As much of a DeSean fan as I am, he has erred. He has put the wrong Eagles receiver on his wide receiver Mt. Rushmore.
I’ll never forget the 1st play of that Monday Night Football game in Washington where he and Mike Vick connected on an absolute bomb to begin a blowout win. (Jump to about :40 seconds into the video.) I remember exactly where I was when he took a punt to the endzone in New York against the Giants as time expired to win the game.
DJacc’s Mt. Rushmore of wide receivers goes like this: Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, and DeSean Jackson. I think you can argue with 2 of his spots… Marvin Harrison was great, but I think there are solid arguments to replace him with the likes of Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Irvin, etc. DeSean’s other spot is just pure crazy. It’s actually an inarguable spot. The 3rd face on the wide receiver Mt. Rushmore is Terrell Owens. TO has the 3rd most receiving yards all time, 642 yards more than arguably the best WR ever Randy Moss. He’s 3rd all-time in touchdowns with 153, only 2 behind Moss. Of course, Sure the guy was a pain in the ass, but most wide receivers are. They say the farther away from the ball you line up the crazier you are.
In the end, DeSean is wrong. The unarguable three on the NFL‘s wide receiver mt. Rushmore is Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, and Terrell Owens. We can argue amongst ourselves to fill out the final space. We all saw how great Terrell Owens was in his short time here. It’s too bad he and McNabb couldn’t share the spotlight the way Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown obviously can. This city would’ve had a lot of great years to end McNabb and Reid’s Eagles years if they could have shared it.
Eagles-Dolphins: Bringing Back Kelly Green in 2023 [GALLERY]
The Philadelphia Eagles brought back the Kelly Green uniforms in 2023 for a memorable win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football.
While the throwbacks don’t bring up memories of an era of glory, fans obsess over the legacy the unforms represent. It wasn’t difficult to notice when Lincoln Financial Field was flooded with Kelly Green gear on Sunday night.

The Eagles certainly backed up their head coach’s statement with their most impressive win of the 2023 season. The Dolphins came in with all the hype.
However, they couldn’t handle Philadelphia. The Eagles shut down the supposedly high-powered attack in a comfortable 31-17 victory.
Sirianni wore the threads with authority as the home crowd cheered on the Birds. An outstanding performance from the defensive line inspired nostalgia for beloved teams with Reggie White and Jerome Brown. White’s son even attended the game and drew a loud ovation from the Philadelphia crowd.
A Love Affair for Eagles Fans
The Eagles are more central to the culture of their city than any other team in the NFL. Generations of Philadelphians have passed down fandom to their children and grandchildren. Wearing the Kelly Green has become a tribute to the long history.
It reminds Eagles fans that they’ve taken a few punches to get to a point when they can appreciate modern success while honoring the roots of a beloved tradition and the identity of the fan base.
The love affair became obvious when the Kelly Green gear flew off the shelves when the Eagles released the merchandise over the summer of 2023 and announced the plans for the Dolphins game.
Fans wore that gear proudly to create an aesthetic spectacle at the Linc for Sunday Night Football.
