Or, you could get married at the Stanley Hotel in Colorado — it was the inspiration for the Overlook in Stephen King’s The ShiningViva Las Vegas Weddings. Naturally, Las Vegas has a bunch of places to tie the knot, including (“Where weddings are a scream!”).
Among ideas for couples making it official on Halloween, The Knot website shares some great ideas for taking your love to the dark side.
- They recommend sending creative Halloween wedding invitations like Tarot cards and open coffin boxes reading, “Till Death Do Us Part.”
- For the dress, play with deep colors and antique embellishments for a moody, gothic feel.
- Ask your makeup artist for Halloween wedding makeup specifically, come to them with a few dramatic ideas, like a darker smokey eye or a deep plum lip color.
- Outfit your wedding party in rich, deep shades like charcoal, burgundy, black or plum.
- For your bouquet, think dark roses, blood-red calla lilies, black feathers, then add branches and tons of candle votives to the tables for the ultimate Halloween wedding centerpieces.
- Have your bartender concoct a batch of party punch with dry ice in it. The smokey effect will be downright enchanting, and guests can help themselves to as much as they please.
