Is there anything in this world that is better than ice cream and music – especially over Memorial Day Weekend, the unofficial start to summer?

I doubt it!

And, apparently, the owners of the nice establishment I went to over the weekend did as well when they decided to open up a shop combining the two worlds!

The place is called Scooped and it is right in the heart of State Street in downtown Media, Pennsylvania!

As the name suggests, their first priority is whipping up some amazing homemade ice cream, and trust me, it is some of the best I have ever had in my life!

But they also buy, sell, and trade vinyl records as well!

They have new records, used records, and even classic records from Sonic Youth all the way to Wynton Kelly!

You can’t go wrong stopping by this place whenever you are in the area!

They have been selected as a finalist in the “Best of the Main Line” 2023 edition and for good reason.

Not only is their ice cream top-notch, but the service is also fantastic.

There is a reason Scooped is a fan favorite during Media’s Dining Under the Stars every summer, with the line practically out the door with people eager to get their favorite flavor!

I had the chance to meet the owner of Scooped, Kyle, and he could not have been any nicer.

My buddy and former great for the Philadelphia Flyers, Joe Watson, actually introduced me to Kyle’s shop over the weekend.

It turns out Kyle is actually a big fan of WMGK, funnily enough.

Well, now I am a fan of his and his shop!

I can’t recommend the place strongly enough, so go check it out if you are in the area!

Whether you choose their handcrafted gourmet ice cream, gelato, or sorbet, there is no way you can go wrong!

The perfect summer treat!

Behind The Scenes Working The Taylor Swift Philadelphia Concert

What a Show!

Over the weekend, a few concerts took place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday down at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philly.

It was a tiny artist that not too many people know about, and there definitely were not close to 100,000 people in and outside the stadium enjoying each show.

And by that, I mean the BIGGEST artist in the world currently and there were absolutely that many people surrounding the Linc and in their seats enjoying the show!

Yes, Taylor Swift was in town over the weekend and it was quite the spectacle!

I was actually in attendance for the show on Saturday night with my niece, Lily!

She is actually a part of the event staff for all of the Eagles games and also works a few select concerts taking place at the Linc!

And you know she was not going to miss Taylor!

I got to walk in the tunnel with her and clock in and then it was right to her post at the Pepsi Plaza!

Lily was super helpful to all the concertgoers assisting plenty of Swifties to their seats and giving them guidance throughout the stadium!

The event itself was incredible!

I got to see the merch first hand that people were lining up by the hundreds for on Thursday — a full day and a half before any of the shows even started!

Taylor put on an amazing show for all the people that were fortunate enough to be in the building and even thousands more outside who just wanted to hear their favorite artist sing.

If you haven’t seen the videos by now, thousands upon thousands of Taylor Swift die-hard fans surrounded the stadium singing their favorite songs and enjoying the show from outside!

I have never seen anything like that in all my years in the music industry!

Overall, I had an amazing time with Lily and I’m glad she got to work one of the shows!

Top 11 Moments From Sixers vs. Celtics Game 6 in Philadelphia

Last night down at the Wells Fargo Center may have not been the outcome the city of Philadelphia was hoping for in the end, but it was still a very entertaining night nonetheless.

The 76ers fell to the Boston Celtics by a score of 95-86 after a long battle where they fell just short.

The team battled back from an early deficit after struggling for the first five minutes of the game, and then they remained in control for the majority of the game… until the last five minutes.

That is when things fell apart and the Celtics made the score out of reach.

Now things are all tied up in the series as it heads back to Boston for a Mother’s Day showdown in game 7.

Hopefully, last night was not my last game as public address announcer for the season!

But if it was – which I don’t believe it will be – it was another fun one, for sure!

The stars were out last night, including an All-Pro center for the Philadelphia Eagles and his little brother who happened to beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

Yes, Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce were in the building enjoying all the pregame festivities and the game itself before it took a turn for the worst!

ESPN was also in the building for the national broadcast, so Brian Windhorst, one of their major reporters, was in the house doing some pregame updates.

The mother of one of the greatest Sixers players of all time was also down at The Center, Ann Iverson!

Happy early Mother’s Day!

Plus, we had a very special bell ringer last night!

Philly’s own, Questlove, the drummer for the legendary group, The Roots, was announced to a loud ovation from the sold-out crowd!

And obviously, I can’t forget the players!

I was able to catch a little bit of Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris warming up, and the unexpected star of game 5, Danuel House, doing his pregame routine.

But the biggest star in the house – at least to me – was my girl Kees!

She is one of the photographers for the team and she does an amazing job!

Follow her on Instagram (@kees2life) to see her work – it is worth it!

Obviously, I think it is safe to assume everyone I mentioned would have preferred to leave the building with a win last night, but the series is not over yet!

Everything we wanted out of this season from the Sixers is still right there in front of us!

We just need the team to go take it!

Go Sixers!

Top 11 Moments Hosting Joel Embiid’s MVP Presentation

As we all know, last week, Joel Embiid was the center of the basketball world as he was finally awarded his first career NBA MVP award.

It was an award that had evaded him the past few years after coming so close, and one that he admittedly wanted to achieve in his career.

It was the second MVP season I have had the pleasure to watch as the public address announcer for the Philadelphia 76ers, with the other being Allen Iverson’s 2001 season.

And both of those seasons were filled with unforgettable moments.

I was so happy for Embiid when the news broke last Tuesday night that he won the league’s most valuable player.

As soon as I heard the news, my thoughts went directly to Game 3, the first home game of the series against the Boston Celtics, where they would present Embiid with the trophy in front of a sold-out Wells Fargo Center crowd.

When I got to the building that night, you could tell the atmosphere was a little different than normal as everyone was anxiously awaiting the trophy presentation.

It was actually the first live MVP event that the NBA hosted on the court in the playoffs since 2016, so I got to host it live on ESPN prior to tip-off.

It was surreal!

It was also the first time the newly unveiled Michael Jordan Trophy was presented to the MVP winner as the league introduced the trophy this season.

The presentation was pretty emotional for all involved, including the Big Fella who was moved to tears when his son, Arthur, ran onto the floor.

It was a night he will remember for sure as will all who were in attendance!

Luckily, for all of you that weren’t, I got some behind-the-scenes pictures and videos of the rehearsals and pregame for you to enjoy!
