A Farewell to Breakfast with The Beatles
On January 9th, 2022, Andre Gardner said farewell to Breakfast with The Beatles. Although this chapter has closed, there are still many more to be written…
“For the past 32 years, and WELL over 1,000 unique shows on multiple radio stations, I have had the incredible honor and privilege to play my favorite band of all time on the radio for you Sunday mornings., deep diving into my ever-growing collection to bring you Beatles & solo favorites, covers, live tracks, alternate takes, and songs you may not have heard before, many played for the first time ever on the radio. I cannot properly articulate what an indescribable joy it has been.
That said, the decision to end my Breakfast with The Beatles Sunday show was 100% mine. As I’m sure you can imagine, it takes many hours to research, write, record, and mix the show each week and, simply put, I want to devote more time to do other things, both on and off the air.
I’m so grateful to you for your incredible support of my show over the past four decades. Beatles fans are the greatest humans in the world, and I am thankful for you and all the wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting along the way, a result of our collective love for this band we hold so dear. I love that we became Beatle buds.
I’ll still be playing you incredible classic rock weekdays from 2-7pm on 102.9 MGK, loving every minute of it, and I’ll make sure we continue our tradition of presenting Christmas Eve with The Beatles and maybe hosting the occasional live Beatles event, not to mention my Beatles Minute podcast that I will continue to produce every week (out now wherever you get your podcasts!)
Thanks to all the contributors and guests who made my show more than I could have imagined and, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening. I’m glad you came along.”
With love,
Andre”
