Happy National Lucky Penny Day!
Do you pick up a penny whenever you see one on the ground? I sure do. Those little unassuming copper units of currency can add up! And remember what good old Ben Franklin said…”a penny saved is a penny earned.”
Enjoy this video courtesy of Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show (the same band that brought you “The Cover of the Rolling Stone”). This song is called “Penicillin Penny” but as you can probably guess, isn’t really about money per se. And this song was written by Shel Silverstein who wrote many of Dr. Hook’s hit songs. He also wrote a “A Boy Named Sue” and he wrote a lot of great kids’ books too. We still have FALLING UP and A LIGHT IN THE ATTIC on our bookshelves.
