Parx Casino was the home to one of the most fun Saturdays I have had in a while, and it was the perfect place to enjoy all the festivities of a Kentucky Derby Saturday.

I had a fantastic time hanging out at the Picnic Grove area at Parx Casino — where not only can you watch the Kentucky Derby, but you can also watch horse races live in person!

Yes, that’s right — they hold their very own horse races at Parx Casino.

Derby Day At Parx Casino...

The gates opened at 10:40 a.m. and people were already starting to fill in as soon as it opened.

The first live post was a couple of hours later at 12:40 p.m.

The atmosphere for Kentucky Derby Day down at Parx Casino was exceptional yet again.

Kentucky Derby Day is always a huge day down at Parx Casino, and as I said, this year was no different.

It seems each year, it just gets better and better.

I believe this was my seventh year hanging down at the Picnic Grove for a personal appearance during Derby Day, and it is always a blast.

We had the MGK Tent set up with plenty of swag to give away to fans right in between the outdoor bar and the racetrack — it was the perfect location.

Plus, Greg and Luke from the MGK Rock Squad kept the party going all day long!

The Wild Finish...

As for the Kentucky Derby itself, wow, what a finish!

It was definitely one for the history books!

Long shot, Mystik Dan, edged out Sierra Leone by less than a nose at the finish line, and a third horse, Forever Young, was just another nose length behind those two!

It was wild!

Truly one of the closest finishes I have ever seen.

It was too close to call on initial viewing!

All around it was a great day from the races at Parx Casino all the way to the Derby itself!

And the best part, for me, the Derby means summer is right around the corner!

I can hear the waves crashing down the shore now!

Some mini ponies were out and about on Derby Day. These were a huge hit.

What would a Kentucky Derby Day be without placing a few tickets! Did you get lucky this year with any horses?

People were out and about in their best Derby attire this Saturday. Who dressed the best here?

Yes, you know we gave away tons of MGK swag at Parx Casino on Saturday. Even some stuff with me and Steve's pictures on them!

Not only were horses popular on Saturday, but so were crabs -- more particularly crab fries! And that was thanks to the Chickie's and Pete's food truck being on location.

Parx Casino hosted a few horse races themselves this Saturday. Here they are at the starting line.

And they are off! This is the best part of the race -- when all fans still have a horse in the race!

All eyes were on the big screen to see if their horses were in the lead. Some happy faces and some disappointed faces all over the crowd based on how their horse was doing in the race.

Not only was the Kentucky Derby a tight race, but so were the races at Parx Casino. So close!

Drinks anyone? Mint julep?

A band called Fish Out of Water providing the tunes! They played a great show!
