Cool Throwback Trading Cards of Matt Cord and Kathy Romano From The 2007-08 76ers Season
Have you ever wanted your very own trading card?
Well, I have been lucky enough to have my face on my very own trading card thanks to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Some will say it would be a lot cooler if I were a professional athlete and had my own trading card, but I’ll take what I can get.
Here’s a throwback to the 2007-2008 Sixers season and my trading card for that year.
Matt Cord and Kathy Romano Trading Cards…
Not only did I get my own trading card, but so did a familiar face — Kathy Romano.
Most of you now know Kathy from The Preston and Steve Show on WMMR, but she also used to work with the 76ers as well.
In fact, back in the day, she was the in-arena host down at what is now known as the Wells Fargo Center for the 76ers.
Kathy was incredible at her job with the Sixers, and she was a huge favorite amongst fans and players alike!
That’s probably why the back of her trading card is filled with a ton of good stuff!
She definitely has me beat!
Kathy and I actually used to do a show together for the Sixers called Courtside Live.
We would do it on the court before each game, and we would interview players, halftime acts, and even event staff personnel.
It was awesome working with Kathy in that capacity.
These days, Christian Crosby has taken over as the in-arena host for the 76ers, and he is easily the best in the NBA.
He does a fantastic job and was even recognized by the league for it as he was selected to be the host of the NBA All-Star Game.
Check out the trading cards below, and let me know what you think!
Crazy to think that my 11th year as the public address announcer for the Sixers was already 16 years ago!
