It’s National Oklahoma Day. And no, I’m not going to post “Okie from Muskogee” although I do love me some Merle Haggard. Instead, I’d like to spotlight one of my favorite Oklahomans (may he rest easy), JJ Cale. You know his music whether or not you know his name. He wrote so many songs covered by Eric Clapton who adored him. They did a wonderful album together too. Some of the songs written by JJ: After Midnight, Cocaine, Call Me The Breeze, Magnolia, Crazy Mama. His laid back playing and singing style endeared him to many a musician and listener. He’s gone now but here’s a great song that was released after his death.
