It’s National Iced Tea Day! I was pretty much raised on sweet tea due to my North Carolina roots. My grandmother, Mother Calton, kept a pitcher of delish teeth chilling sugary tea in the fridge at all times throughout her 104 years (secret of life?) as did my Mother Jones. My parents keep both sweet and unsweet. It’s definitely a southern thing. My husband Chip and I know who has the good freshly brewed stuff and who has the pre-mixed when we head out to the restaurants. And can I just say that if you make your tea in your coffee maker, WE NOTICE! ugh. Anyway, this is a great Van Morrison song that isn’t necessarily about ICED tea but it’s a pretty song to hear, nonetheless. Thank you Van Mo. And absolutely, add a lemon slice or two.
