Jane’s Addiction Coming To Philadelphia 10-21-22
One of my all-time favorite bands Jane’s Addiction are coming to play The Wells Fargo along with The Smashing Pumpkins on Friday night October 21st. Jane’s Addiction were one of the first bands early on in the Alt rock scene to gain both mainstream media attention and commercial success in the United States. And is still considered today as one of the most influential acts in music. To me just as important as Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
The first time I heard “Mountain Song” I was hooked. Plus, when I worked at WDRE on Long Island “Been Caught Stealing” was a Shriek of the week for over a month. And the Ritual de lo Habitual tour included headlining the first Lollapalooza festival which Perry Farrell founded and is still going strong today, in multiple countries.
They will open for The Smashing Pumpkins next Friday at The Wells Fargo Center, which I think is a little weird, but I guess The Pumpkins have sold more records. Either way both bands deserve to be in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In the picture is Perry Farrell and and me when he stopped by my show a few years back the night they were playing The Mann.
