I Got to Hang With Dr. J This Weekend!
This past weekend, I got to hang out with Philadelphia 76er royalty.
The word “legend” gets thrown around an awful lot these days, and sometimes those that are labeled as legends, do not necessarily deserve that title.
But this man is definitely deserving of that title and so much more, believe me.
Over the weekend, I got to spend some time with the one and only, Julius Erving!
Dr. J is the definition of a true living legend!
He is easily on the Mount Rushmore of Sixers players ever, and an easy argument could be made that he is the best 76er of all time.
He helped me host a three-on-three tournament for season ticket holders of the 76ers, which took place at the Sixers practice facility in Camden, New Jersey, right over the Ben Franklin Bridge.
By the way, the practice facility is top-notch. It is gorgeous and a very cool place.
After the tournament, we had a fun Q&A session for the fans with Dr. J!
It was so much fun.
I am sure the season ticket members were ecstatic when they heard he was going to be in attendance!
Speaking of being in attendance, the Doc himself will be at tonight’s Sixers game as the team takes on the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. tonight down at the Wells Fargo Center.
That means Mr. Bricken for Chicken himself will be back in the building tonight.
Yes, Ben Simmons will suit up against his former squad for the second time as a visitor.
This time an added layer of excitement for the game has me looking forward to it.
Tonight will be the first time Joel Embiid laces them up against Simmons because the last time they played, Embiid was out with an injury.
It will be interesting to see how that goes out on the floor, with the former teammates trading multiple shots at each other in press conferences and online over the last year!
I can’t wait for tip-off later tonight and maybe I’ll get a chance to run into Dr. J again!
Go Sixers!
