While Working on NBA 2K I Stayed in Burbank, California, Where I Used to Live in First Grade!
So as you all know by now, I spent the last five days out in California recording some vocals as an announcer in the new NBA 2K video game, and it is my third year in a row involved with the series.
If you are not caught up to speed, consider checking out these two posts, here and here!
The folks over at Mission Control Productions did an amazing job, and more specifically, Bill and Arlene Kole.
It was a pleasure to work with them!
It is always great getting to spend some time in California for various reasons, but one reason, in particular, is why I enjoy it so much.
Each year I have been out there for the 2K series, I have always stayed in Burbank, California.
And that is no accident!
It is a place I have some great memories in because when I was in first grade, the entire Cord family lived in Burbank!
So it is sort of like going back home when I am out there!
I even stopped back outside my old apartment complex where we lived back in the late 60s!
Who knew back then that one day I would return to have my voice in a video game?
So Cool!
It was awesome to visit again!
Another awesome thing was the hotel I stayed in during my trip.
It had a great selection of coffee, which is always a good thing.
But most importantly, the hotel gym had a Peloton.
And that was much needed after stopping by the west coast’s best burger joint – In-N-Out!
Being able to spend some time out there with all the beautiful surroundings was amazing.
But don’t worry, you know I wouldn’t forget about my home back in Philly, so I had to wear a Sixers hat from time to time.
And now I am home just in time for the Super Bowl!
