Lou Dogs Is Still One of The Best Food Spots In Sea Isle 42 Years After Its Inception
If you are in or around Sea Isle City down the Jersey Shore, and you like hot dogs, I have the perfect place for you — Lou Dogs.
Lou Dogs is an all-time classic in Sea Isle and it is located on the boardwalk — or promenade, as some Sea Isle goers like to call it — right on 38th Street.
It is run by Christian Subashi, whose father Lou, the namesake of the business, had opened the original Lou Dogs 75th Street until 2010 when Lou unfortunately passed away.
When that happened, Christian discovered the permit that his father Lou had secured would not transfer down to him, so he turned the original Lou Dogs cart into a storefront.
The storefront was located on 38th Street and Pleasure right in Sea Isle, and as of this summer 2024, it has made its way to the boardwalk.
The Food At Lou Dogs…
At Lou Dogs, there are so many hot dogs to choose from, including the Shoobie Dog, also known as the dog of the day, which changes on a daily basis, so you never know what you can get until you go!
They also have a ton of classic dogs, and other dogs that they put their spin onto, and the best part is they all have cool names!
But Lou Dogs also has more than just hot dogs like my favorite item, the walking taco.
The walking taco is a bag of Fritos, which is smashed and topped with seasoned ground beef, house-made pico de gallo, and cheddar cheese.
Stick in a spoon, and you have the original walking taco.
It is delicious!
Lou Dogs is open every single day of the week from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. so that you can swing by for lunch or dinner.
No matter what time of the day it is, you can never go wrong with a meal or snack from this place!
