The Kinks!! One Of My All Time Favorite Bands
Not sure if you knew this but The Kinks are one of my all-time favorite bands! I always put them in my Top 5 of my favorite bands. Ray and Dave Davies are truly rock and roll icons, pioneers, legends and Ray is such an incredible song writer one of the best ever and his brother Dave is so underrated as a lead guitar player. He practically invented the Power Riff. Their song “All day and all of the night” is one of the first power riff guitar solos.
Not as popular as The Beatles or The Rolling Stones but you can argue that The Kink just as influential as those two bands. The Band has been inactive since 1996, but Ray and Dave both have not closed the door for some type of reunion. I’m thinking a Venue like The Met on North Broad Street would be a perfect spot, maybe multiple nights?
Bye the way my favorite Kinks song is Rock and Roll Fantasy. Love the lyrics “when he feels the while world is closing in…he turns the stereo way up high, spending his life in a rock and roll fantasy”
Also, my favorite show that I saw with The Kinks was in the late 70’s at The Spectrum and Ian Hunter opened both bands were Fantastic!
