MGK Big Bad Bonfire 2022: Maybe The Most Fun One Yet!
Ever since our very first MGK Big Bonfire, when we weren’t sure how many people would show up and more than 500+ folks did, it’s been an absolute blast to put on. Even at Bonfire #1, when we vastly underestimated the number of people who’d attend and only set up one beer truck (!), it was fun as hell. The concept is easy, but the setup and execution of this event could not happen were it not for the combined efforts of our MGK Promotions team, the Hartland Demolition crew, and the Upper Salford Fire Department. Not to mention the time and care needed to transport Matt Cord‘s flamethrower to light the fire!
It was truly astonishing, to say the least.
The weather could not have been more perfect, with virtually no wind also a big plus, and our newly-crowned MGK House Band Incognito did us proud by lighting up the stage before and during the burning of the giant guitar.
For me, one of the most enjoyable part of the MGK Big Bad Bonfire is the chance to see and chat with our MGK listening family. I love seeing people who’ve been going for years, or first-timers checking out all there is to see and do, and talking music with them. In the case of this year’s Bonfire, the Phils took up a lot of the conversations!
Speaking of Phillies, I got to the bonfire at 4:45 but couldn’t get out of my car until that 8th inning Harper homer!
Once we got going, though, it was such fun. There’s just something about the vibe of the Bonfire: the flaming fire itself, the people, the Spring Mountain location, and the band. It creates the perfect atmosphere to usher in the fall season and, in the case of this year’s bonfire, a Phils NLCS appearance for the first time in a decade!
So thank you so much for coming by if you were there. I had a ball! And if you missed it, there’s always Big Bad Bonfire 2023!
