The Matt Cord Show With Steve Vassalotti’s First Video Is Out
Here at WMGK, we do a cash contest around this time every year, where a lucky listener can win $1,000 five different times every day. This year, our contest is called the Whole Lotta Loot contest!
It is actually a company-wide contest throughout all of Beasley’s stations, including WMGK’s sister stations, WMMR, BEN FM, XTU, and 97.5 The Fanatic.
Each day, at five different times, 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 5:00 pm, whoever the DJ is on-air will give you a keyword you have to text into a given number to get entered into the contest. Then, one winner is chosen at random!
Yes, that’s right, we have the first keyword of the day for Whole Lotta Loot on The Matt Cord Show With Steve Vassalotti, so make sure you are up early and tuned in, so you can maximize your chance to win the cash prize!
It’s always a thrill when one of the great MGK listeners wins and comes away with a Whole Lotta Loot!
If you have been keeping up with my posts, you know that last week I made a post about The Matt Cord Show With Steve Vassalotti’s first official video shoot we did for the Whole Lotta Loot contest.
Well, the video is finished and it is amazing!
Kyle McCarty, who does a ton of video work for the station, shot and edited the video himself, and he absolutely crushed it! He is so good at his craft, and I couldn’t be happier with the final product!
So, mad props to Kyle Mac!
By the way, look how amazing Bill Weston’s bike looks in the video! It is glimmering in the sunlight!
I’ll post the video right below for you all to watch!
After seeing it myself, I think Steve and I might have to consider ditching the radio gigs, and head to Hollywood and test our luck as actors!
Tune into The Matt Cord Show With Steve Vassalotti every day at 8 a.m. for your shoot to win $1,000 in the Whole Lotta Loot contest.

The Top 19 Moments of MGK Big Gig 2023
There are just four days left in the summer — at least officially according to the calendar that says the last day of the season is September 23rd. For some people, summer unofficially ends after Labor Day Weekend, but for me, my summer unofficially ended with a bang over the weekend at MGK Big Gig 2023!
On Sunday, we had yet another successful MGK Big Gig, and it might have been the best one yet! From the live broadcasts to hanging with fans, to the performances by the legendary musical guests, it was definitely a day to remember!
The live performances included Uncle Kracker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and ZZ-Top, and they were the perfect acts to have taken the stage on a Sunday in the late summer.
Tony Harris, Andre Gardner, and then Steve Vassalotti and I all broadcasted live throughout the day. Of course, I have to send a huge shout-out to all of you who stopped by our broadcast booth on the Walt Whitman side of the Freedom Mortgage Pavillion!
Then, Steve and I were lucky enough to get to go on stage in between Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ-Top, and it was a thrill to look out into the crowd and see so many loyal WMGK listeners in attendance! We even got to get on the microphone and say hello to the MGK Big Gig crowd!
Below I will share some of my favorite moments I captured throughout the day and post some pictures and videos for you all to relive the day if you were there, or see it from my perspective if you were unable to make it this year!
Somehow, each year the MGK Big Gig continues to get better and better, and I can’t wait to see what is in store for next year’s show. I know it will be amazing!
