Robert Covington Makes His Return As A Philadelphia 76ers Player
Last night was a homecoming of sorts for one of my favorite Philadelphia 76ers. He is not originally from the area and he didn’t grow up here, but you could say he learned how to become a young adult here early in his career. If you don’t know by now, I am talking about Robert Covington.
As I wrote in my post the other day, the Sixers acquired Robert Covington from the Los Angeles Clippers as a part of the James Harden trade that went down in the middle of the night earlier in the week.
Robert Covington, Roco for short, played for the 76ers from 2014-2018 and was a huge part of the Process era teams. He along with T.J. McConnell are two of the biggest success stories of guys making the most of their opportunity in the league during that time.
It was great getting to catch up with Robert Covington a little bit before the game last night during warm-ups.
We chatted for a bit, and I told him how excited I was to say “RoCo for 3” again whenever he knocks down a three-pointer at the Wells Fargo Center.
Although I didn’t get to do that last night, I have no doubt I will be saying that a lot this season as RoCo is known for being a great knockdown shooter as well as one of the best defenders in the league.
Judging by his warmups, RoCo can still hit some threes in his sleep!
Even the 76ers Sixth Man, Alan Horwitz, caught up with RoCo!
Robert Covington did not get much time in the game last night, but he did officially check in late in the 4th quarter.
The team won an early season matchup against the Toronto Raptors by a score of 114-99.
Robert Covington and the Sixers will be back in action again tomorrow afternoon for a matchup against the Phoenix Suns.
Go Sixers!

My 25-Mile Bike Ride With Casey Boy Preparing For Ben To The Shore
As many of you know after reading my post about the Stanley Cup from yesterday, I spent the last week on vacation down the Jersey shore.
And from many of my other posts before that, you know I enjoy going for some long bike rides — especially down the shore!
So what could be better than squeezing in a nice bike ride on a week’s long vacation? Squeezing in a nice bike ride on a week’s long vacation with a great friend of mine, of course!
I got to go on a great ride with my buddy Casey Boy from The Preston and Steve Show on our sister station, WMMR.
We rode through multiple shore towns as we got in a practice ride in preparation for this Sunday’s Ben To The Shore ride! For those that don’t know, the Ben To The Shore Bike Tour is a charity event that raises funds for Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation, which is for the families of fallen first responders and police officers.
It is always a lot of fun and something I look forward to each year!
During our practice route, Casey Boy and I rode about 25.81 miles from Wildwood to Town Bank to Cape May Point to Cape May then all the way back to Wildwood where we started.
It was a great time and has me ready to conquer the 65-mile Ben To The Shore ride! This will actually be my tenth year riding in the event and each year it gets better and better.
If you are interested in donating, visit fbbcf.org or visit the Team WMMR Rock and Rollers page.
I can’t wait for Sunday and hopefully, the weather holds up for the ride! I’m sure there will be a lot of people on the ride for this great cause!
Who do you think will cross the finish line first, me or Casey Boy?
