The Philadelphia 76ers Unveil Their Big Red Hardwood Floor Court
If you tuned into the Philadelphia 76ers game last night, you probably noticed something just a little different than normal.
I know it must have been hard for you to put your finger on it, and it was quite subtle.
In fact, unless you were paying super close attention, it might have gone right over your head.
If you haven’t caught on by now, I am being totally sarcastic!
Last night, the 76ers played their first home game of the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament against the Indiana Pacers at the Wells Fargo Center.
As part of the tournament, each team in the NBA has a special hardwood court for their home games. Well, the Sixers unveiled theirs last night, and let me tell you, you couldn’t miss it!
The court was bright red and featured the team’s alternative 76 logo at half court inside the trophy that will be awarded to the winner of the tournament. There was also a vertical blue line down the center of the court.
So for all those asking, “How do you know when the NBA In-Season Tournament games are?”
Well, there’s your answer!
Just keep an eye out for the colored courts and you’ll know that the game is a part of the tournament.
Oh, and all the games in the tournament are played on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The game didn’t necessarily go the 76ers way last night, so we’re not going to talk about it!
But what we will talk about is the pregame guest bell ringers last night!
I am sure you are all familiar with them!
My buddies from down the hall, Preston and Steve rang the bell!
The guys rang it for the third time last night — that is more than Jason Kelce!
If you didn’t know — and you should know, so I’ll tell you — Preston and Steve are currently holding their annual Camp Out For Hunger, so if you can, either stop by the lots outside the Wells Fargo Center to donate non-perishable food, or donate online right here!
Go P&S and go 76ers!
Keep an eye out for that red court in action again next Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers!
