See 3 WMGK DJs In Kevin Bacon’s New Music Video!
Kevin Bacon is a multitalented dude. In addition to his impressive acting resume, and his fantastic philanthropic work, Kevin, along with his older brother Michael, have had their own rock duo going since 1994, The Bacon Brothers. Now, the Philly-born siblings have recorded and released a brand new song, sure to warm the hearts of Delaware Valley residents, called “Philly Thing.” The video features Kevin and Michael joined by local Philly musicians we love, TV and radio people, and some of our favorite city landmarks. And the greatest honor for me is that I’m one of the people with a cameo in the video, along with my colleagues Cyndy Drue and Debbi Calton!
The song was co-written by Kevin and Naheim Gaymon-Hill, and produced and engineered by Grammy-winning producer (and my pal) Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo.
Most importantly, the song and video will help raise awareness about a non profit organization called Rock To The Future. The team there is dedicated to getting young people involved in music through programs in schools, community centers and juvenile justice facilities. It’s so cool, too, because several of the students from Rock To The Future appear in the video. Kevin Bacon’s own cleverly-named organization, SixDegrees.org, supports both Rock To The Future, and dozens of other local, community-based organizations.
On top of it all, the song is FANTASTIC! Many thanks to Joe Nicolo, and Kevin and Michael Bacon, for the honor and opportunity to appear in this great music video along with my other Philly heroes and heroines!
