Pigskin Picks Week 18
Alright, it’s been a rough couple weeks for the picks segment. Christmas break was not kind to the choices. New Year, new me right? Hopefully. Last week of the 2022-23 regular season, playoffs are just about set, but a few things like seeding still matter. Let’s hope that backups being in a game don’t bite us by the time the 4th quarter ends. Pigskin Picks brought to you by the all-new Bet Parx Casino & Sportsbook App. New users get your first bet risk free up to $750. Go to BetParx.com. Must be 21. Gambling problem, call 1800 Gambler.
Last Week Record: 1-2. Overall Record: 17-14.
Titans @ Jags (JAX –6 ½)
Shocked that this is the game of the week? Don’t be. Our buddy Dougy P is primed to take the Jags back to the playoffs. It’ll be their first appearance since 2017 when they lost the AFC Championship game. This is a win and in game for the AFC South. Loser goes home. Derrick Henry is back, but I think Doug has Trevor Lawrence playing his best just in time for the playoffs. Remember that the Titans secondary is susceptible to the pass, just look what AJ Brown and the Eagles did to them. Jags cover the 6 ½, while locking up the AFC’s 4th seed.
PICK – Jaguars
Bears @ Minnesota (MIN -7 ½)
Minnesota wants the 2 seed. They probably need the 2 seed. Hope is still alive they’ll get it. The Bear’s season is over, they’ve ended the year for their QB Justin Fields so this game is also over. If Fields were playing, I think the Bears might actually win this game outright. Minnesota gets out to an early lead, keeps building that lead, pulls their starters in the later part of the game and we as bettors just hope they hold onto the 7 ½ point lead for the cover.
PICK – Vikings
Giants @ Eagles (PHL -14)
This massive number shows just how good this Eagles offense is with Jalen Hurts. They haven’t said he’s going to play yet, but it doesn’t make sense for them not to get the 1 seed vs what is most likely backups for the Giants since they already locked up a playoff spot for next week. Being at home the entire playoffs is such an advantage. Think about that building in 2017 when Patrick Robinson had his pick 6. The place was shaking, and the Vikings never recovered. Since I’m not sure how long Hurts and the starters will play, 14 seems too big a number in an NFC East game. Giants cover the 14.
