Pigskin Picks NFL Week 8
I noted last week that even mentioning being on a hot streak was going to anger the betting gods… It did. But they did allow me one win. So not a total loss. I’ll try to build on that generosity in my Pigskin Picks NFL week 8 write up. As always Pigskin Picks is brought to you by Parx Casino and Sportsbook – this is how you win – must be 21 – gambling problem call 1-800-gambler.
Last Week’s Record: 1-2. Overall Record: 11-10
Patriots @ Dolphins MIA – 9.5
I love the Dolphins in a bounce back game against the New England Patriots. They’re pissed after getting roughed up in Philly on National TV last Sunday night. The Pats are travelling to Miami, a city they’re struggled in even with Tom Brady. They’re also coming off a last second win against another division rival last week. This screams let down game. Miami rolls and covers the big number.
PICK – Miami
Vikings @ Green Bay MIN -1.5
I’m surprised by this line here. It seemed like the vikings found something last week in their win against the 49ers. This week they head to a stuggling Green Bay team. QB Jordon Love has not looked good in recent weeks. These are two teams going in opposite directions, and it’s not a difficult to play mid-December game at Lambeau Field. I’ll take Kirk Cousins and the Vikings to begin to gain a little steam on their way to a just over .500 season finish.
PICK – Minnesota
Eagles @ Commanders PHI -6.5
The last time these teams played I made the mistake of forgetting that NFC East games are always close. I should learn from my poor choice in early October. Alas, I will not learn. This Eagles team is gelling nicely. Howie Roseman just sured up the secondary by trading for safety Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans. Howie and Tennessee love working together. Last time it was for a back bench receiver named AJ Brown. Hasn’t done much in his time here. This time the Eagles gave up Terrell Edmunds, a 5th and a 6th round draft pick for a 2 time all pro, 2 time pro bowler, and former NFL interception leader. Are you kidding me?! The best thing Terrell Edmunds did in his short stint in Philly was go to the Phillies playoff game with D’Andre Swift while mic’d up.
I will not learn my lesson from the last game against the Commanders. Eagles win easy, cover the 6 1/2 and move to 7-1.
PICK – EAGLES
GO BIRDS!
Eagles-Dolphins: Bringing Back Kelly Green in 2023 [GALLERY]
The Philadelphia Eagles brought back the Kelly Green uniforms in 2023 for a memorable win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football.
While the throwbacks don’t bring up memories of an era of glory, fans obsess over the legacy the unforms represent. It wasn’t difficult to notice when Lincoln Financial Field was flooded with Kelly Green gear on Sunday night.
Eagles Roll Dolphins in Kelly Green
Nick Sirianni spoke about the alternate uniforms last week.

The Eagles certainly backed up their head coach’s statement with their most impressive win of the 2023 season. The Dolphins came in with all the hype.
However, they couldn’t handle Philadelphia. The Eagles shut down the supposedly high-powered attack in a comfortable 31-17 victory.
Sirianni wore the threads with authority as the home crowd cheered on the Birds. An outstanding performance from the defensive line inspired nostalgia for beloved teams with Reggie White and Jerome Brown. White’s son even attended the game and drew a loud ovation from the Philadelphia crowd.
A Love Affair for Eagles Fans
The Eagles are more central to the culture of their city than any other team in the NFL. Generations of Philadelphians have passed down fandom to their children and grandchildren. Wearing the Kelly Green has become a tribute to the long history.
It reminds Eagles fans that they’ve taken a few punches to get to a point when they can appreciate modern success while honoring the roots of a beloved tradition and the identity of the fan base.
The love affair became obvious when the Kelly Green gear flew off the shelves when the Eagles released the merchandise over the summer of 2023 and announced the plans for the Dolphins game.
Fans wore that gear proudly to create an aesthetic spectacle at the Linc for Sunday Night Football.
